About the Author

Adam Smith is regarded as the first economist. He was also a philosopher. When you read “The Wealth of Nations”, one sees, he had a great deal of common sense and knew how to succinctly express his ideas in an engaging, and entertaining way.

Smith recognized that there are many iterations of what defines a particular free-market society.  Consequently, he wasn’t rigid when presenting what today are highly regarded as axioms of the truth. He lived during the “Age of Letters”; he was learned, and curious.
