Once upon a time, two spirits were on a collision course; unaware, unbridled and forever free, so they thought. As they made contact, they never slowed down, and instead of repelling off one another, they went right through each other. A momentary possession? Perhaps. Giving pause, both unnerved, both invaded, both wanting to continue; and continue on they did, faster than before, as if to run away from that which is giving chase.
However, as we all know, the lord has a sense of humor. She had placed the two on the same orbital plane, but they moved in opposite directions. Time and time again she and her angel buddies had a good laugh watching these two engage and take umbrage with one another. Every time they collided, one could hear their laughter; even God herself would have a good chuckle.
However, a hundred years later, the two came to not only expect their encounters; but welcome the act of engagement, taking solace in knowing they would always show up. Today, as they pass, they become saddened as “push” turns to “pull”. They know they can slow down but for only a moment’s pause and a quick embrace, as they then must separate. Leaving both unnerved, both invaded, both to continue on, moving faster than ever before, towards that which never gave chase.
