Literati Take-away Series, # 5
The English Philosophers
An excellent book by a terrific author who provides additional insights as to how the rule of law developed and evolved to where it is today. The work allows the reader to see where and how we in western society, may have lost our way. This is a semi-rare treasure, the work may prove to be expensive and challenging to find
* This book is highly recommended reading, for both our Chapbook Production(s) “Literati Takeaway and Econic Compositional Series”.
About the Author
Edwin Arthur Burtt lived to be almost 100 years old. He was a prolific and engaging author, philosopher, and college professor.
Where Aristotle is credited with the saying that “Justice is unjust”; after reading this work, for me, the takeaway in today’s world, would be something like “The Rule of Law, has become unruly”!
You are probably already aware that our rule of law here in the states, emanates from the British. Were you aware that British Law grew out from English philosophy, at a time when philosophers drew many an insight from the employment of “The Scientific Method” which was introduced to the world w/ Newtonian Physics?
