The Wealth of Nations
The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith is still considered to be one of the greatest works ever written on the subject of economics. His focus is on the division of labor, the origins, and use of money, and, the government’s role in domestic and foreign affairs.
About the Author
Adam Smith is regarded as the first economist. He was also a philosopher. When you read “The Wealth of Nations”, one sees, he had a great deal of common sense and knew how to succinctly express his ideas in an engaging, and entertaining way.
Smith recognized that there are many iterations of what defines a particular free-market society. Consequently, he wasn’t rigid when presenting what today are highly regarded as axioms of the truth. He lived during the “Age of Letters”; he was learned, and curious.
